Cool stuff recently

Of course the world of IT is never a quiet one. Luckily for that! So I rounded up some cool stuff I ran in recently:

Azure Machine learning

Azure machine learning (ML) is a "Powerful Cloud-based predictive analytics" platform. It gives users the ability to use predictive analytics on a much more user friendly scale. The Cloud gives you the possibility to experiment at scale extremely cheaply. Microsoft delivers some out-of-the-box algorithms but users can also add their own.

A nice way to start learning predictive analytics.

Manus Machinea

Manus Machinea is a kickstarter that gives users the ability to use their hands in a virtual world (for example Oculus Rift). I got a chance to try the Oculus rift and it terrified me pretty much, now with the combination of Manus Machinea it could get even more (virtually) realistic. When will the point come that people don't know in what world they are in, Inception?

Netherlands win RoboCup 2014

As a big soccer fan I'm still working on the fact that we lost against Argentina in the semi-finals. However the university of Eindhoven (TU/E) won the robocup not short after the los. Great result after losing it last year in the final to the Chinese.
